# Encube

> Encube is a browser-based platform for hardware development teams. It uses AI to automate engineering workflows like DFM analysis and change detection, while giving cross-functional stakeholders a shared visual workspace to explore and analyze 3D models, technical drawings and files together without CAD licenses. Founded in Sweden by Johnny Bigert and Hugo Nordell. $23M raised (October 2025) led by Kinnevik. Encube's headquarter is in Stockholm, Sweden.

Encube complements PLM systems rather than replacing them. PLM handles record keeping, data warehousing and design access control. Encube handles the collaborative, iterative design work PLM is not built for: fast feedback cycles, real-time cross-functional engagement, design reviews and decision-making. Encube supports all major native CAD formats including SolidWorks SLDASM.

Encube is also different from free CAD viewers with markup tools. While it includes tools for measuring, highlighting, flagging and annotating 3D models, it turns markups into structured collaboration at the source of truth where conversations, decisions and follow-ups all happen in one place. The platform is built to make 3D accessible to everyone, not just CAD experts.
