New features, Aug 27 2026

  • New feature
  • Global comments sidebar brings every comment in a project into one sidebar. Each comment keeps a durable reference to the file it was made on, so context survives as canvases change.
  • Comments stay anchored to what they point at since conversations are now projected shapes on the canvas, so pins track their target as shapes move, get grouped or are connected with arrows.
  • Richer 3D and CAD comments show the part a comment was left on in the CAD Explorer. Clicking a part name filters the comments list to that part, and filter chips carry the icon of the app the comment came from.
  • Shareable canvas page links give canvas pages real URLs, so you can link someone straight to the page you are looking at.
  • Timestamped comments on canvas videos pin a comment to the moment it refers to, so feedback lands on the right frame.
  • Live CAD processing progress shows real progress on uploads and asset cards while a CAD file is processed, instead of an indefinite spinner.
  • CAD Explorer v2 and engine stickers for everyone turns the new CAD Explorer and CAD engine stickers on for all users.
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for everyone, beta is available to all users and marked as beta in the canvas Apps toolbar.
  • SolidWorks plugin download for everyone adds the plugin download to the profile menu for all users whose workspace has it available.
  • Pins attach to any canvas object lets you drop a conversation pin on images, videos and other canvas objects. The pin attaches as soon as you place it, stays above everything, highlights the target as you drag and stays attached as shapes move.
  • Click a 3D part to find it in the tree activates that row in the CAD Explorer, expands its ancestors and scrolls it into view when you select a part or subassembly. The fullscreen tree now shows part thumbnails and starts closed, and existing v1 explorers open as v2 with their saved viewpoints.

Improvements, Aug 27 2026

  • Improvements
  • Calmer dialogs and panels drop the header and footer dividers, and borders and dividers across the app now follow the design tokens for consistent contrast.
  • A branded page for unknown URLs means mistyped or dead links land on a proper Encube not-found page instead of a bare error.
  • Simpler Part Delta removes commenting from the Part Delta app. Commenting in canvas, Asset Explorer and DFM is unchanged.
  • Lighter canvas removes the deprecated CAD card, and thumbnails now use the shared 3D renderers.
  • Clearer 3D selection gives selected and hovered parts a flat tint plus an outline through the whole part, including hidden and ghosted geometry.
  • Lighter homepage gives the projects homepage a lighter background.
  • Smoother canvas chrome eases collaborator avatars and toolbar items in and out instead of popping.
  • Roomier comment replies drop your own avatar from the reply field, so the input uses the full width of the card.
  • Leaner pin menu removes "Hide all comments" from conversation pin actions.

Bug fixes, Aug 27 2026

  • Bug fixes
  • Canvases stay open across app versions so collaborators on different app versions no longer get kicked out of a shared canvas.
  • Comment threads stay readable now that they sit above the canvas toolbars and minimap instead of behind them.
  • Navigation reliability fixes a routing bug so page transitions resolve correctly.
  • Sticky notes behave on creation and size themselves correctly as they are placed.
  • Crisper text in shapes removes the white halo that used to render around text inside geo shapes.
  • No more crashes with 3D stickers offline means Sticker 3D shapes survive a dropped collaboration connection instead of taking the canvas down.
  • Stable deep zoom in 3D stops the CAD viewer losing its rendering context when zooming far in.
  • Panning over app titles no longer zooms so dragging across an app's title bar pans as expected.
  • Videos match other apps since video cards now use the same chrome as other apps and keep the source aspect ratio when dropped or resized.
  • Pins stay fully visible in frames so conversation pins and clusters are no longer cropped at a frame border.
  • Canvas names show on thumbnail hover so hovering a project-list tile with a thumbnail shows the canvas name again.
  • Missing selection indicators restored so shapes that lacked the rectangular selection indicator now show it.
  • Color pill default fixes the color pill to use the correct default color.
  • Pins attach without a drag attaches a conversation pin immediately when you place it on another shape, instead of waiting for an extra drag.
  • Pins stay with you while you drag so the comment thread follows a fast drag, the pin stays on the canvas when you drag past the viewport, and the thread hides while you are moving it.
  • Avatars show again since Gravatars now load from email across comments, collaborator presence, the app bar, invites, lock indicators and follow mode, instead of falling back to initials.
  • AI summary only on multi-select so the selection-toolbar AI summary action only appears when more than one sticky note or conversation pin is selected.

New features, Aug 13 2026

  • New feature
  • Canvas-scoped guests lets you invite someone to a single canvas instead of the whole project. Guests can upload CAD files, images, PDFs, videos and spreadsheets onto that canvas without access to other project pages, and see a placeholder instead of an error if a shared asset gets deleted.
  • Text alignment on shape labels lets you align label text left, center or right from the shape selection toolbar, with matching icons in the toolbar and rich text editor.
  • Canvas thumbnails now show on project cards and in favorites so you can recognise the canvas you want at a glance instead of reading names.

Improvements, Aug 13 2026

  • Improvements
  • Faster images load asset thumbnails straight from the CDN at the size they are displayed, instead of routing through the app.
  • Smoother canvas zoom and pan reduces hitches when you pan and zoom around the canvas.
  • Comments feel quicker to write now that Enter posts a comment and Shift+Enter starts a new line. The comment panel animates open and closed instead of snapping, and the composer no longer stretches out of shape on long text.
  • Travel to asset for everyone recentres the canvas on the selected 3D asset for all users whenever that asset is off screen.
  • A nudge on an empty canvas now shows the initial upload message to everyone.
  • New support chat switches the in-app support tool from Crisp to Pylon.

Bug fixes, Aug 13 2026

  • Bug fixes
  • Company avatar corners are properly rounded again on the smallest avatar size.
  • Fullscreen apps stay visible when you open their menus instead of disappearing behind them.

  • Cleaner comments panel simplifies the panel title and tidies up its empty state.
  • Softer secondary text gives secondary text a consistent neutral color across the app.
  • Refined nav and toolbar controls give top nav menus, toolbar buttons and toggles consistent hover, focus and pressed styles.
  • Cleaner comment controls replace the oversized comment illustration in the bottom toolbars with the standard comment icon, aligned across Canvas, DfM, Part Delta and Asset Explorer.
  • Faster, more reliable PDFs render PDF documents on the canvas with the PDFium engine.
  • Unified shape selection toolbar gives you one consistent toolbar whenever you select shapes.
  • Cleaner, more consistent UI refreshes tooltip styling, clarifies toolbar dropdown states and lightens avatar borders and initials.
  • Spotlight me is easier to find now sits as a prominent button in the user menu.
  • One toolbar for every selection uses the same toolbar whether you pick one shape or many, a built in shape or a fullscreen app.
  • Smoother multiplayer batches cursor and camera updates into a steady 30 updates per second instead of one per rendered frame, cutting collaboration traffic with no added lag.

  • Crisp canvas text removes the white halo that used to appear behind text shapes on the canvas.
  • Fullscreen CAD explorer no longer crashes when opened on newer collaboration canvases.
  • Deleted assets stay graceful and reliably show a placeholder instead of retrying and erroring.
  • Leaving a canvas no longer bounces you back and takes you where you intended.
  • Deleted assets show a placeholder on the canvas when the underlying asset was deleted.
  • Right-click menu restored on 3D stickers so the context menu works again on Sticker3D shapes.

New features, Jul 16 2026

  • New feature
  • Follow mode and presenter mode let you click a collaborator's avatar to mirror their camera, or present to the room so everyone follows your view. Works in both the 2D canvas and the 3D asset explorer.
  • Present from the outline lets you launch a canvas presentation straight from the outline in a minimised stepper bar, then step through frames using the previous and next controls or the arrow keys. Moving between views animates smoothly.

  • Editable external version lets you change an asset's external version directly from the details panel.
  • Orbit assembly thumbnails let you rotate an assembly thumbnail to see it from different angles.
  • Default model orientation lets you set a model's default up orientation once, then share it across your organisation.
  • Inline frame renaming lets you rename a frame directly from the outline panel, without switching back to the canvas.
